RESOLUTION NO. 9687
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
CHANGING THE DESIGNATION OF PROPERTIES IN THE 1-494 CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, the City's Comprehensive Plan provides a Guide Plan establishing
classifications for individual property; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Guide Plan designates the area from Knox
Avenue to Trunk Highway 77 and 7ih Street to 1-494 ("1-494 Corridor") as Multi-Residential
- High Density, Multi-residential- High Density/Office, Church, Regional
Commercial/Office, Office, Regional Commercial, Neighborhood Commercial; and
WHEREAS, the City has studied this area and determined that the 1-494 Corridor
needs new land use concepts to guide Richfield into the Future; and
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the Guide Plan classifications and determined
that it would be appropriate to change the classification of this area to as Multi-Residential
- High Density, Multi-residential - High Density/Office, Church, Regional
Commercial/Office, Office, Regional Commercial, Community Commercial/Office, Public;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on November 28,
2005 concerning modifying the Guide Plan and approved the modification; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the amendment on December
13, 2005;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield,
Minnesota that the City's Comprehensive Plan is hereby amended to change the 1-494
Corridor from Multi-Residential - High Density, Multi-residential - High Density/Office,
Church, Regional Commercial/Office, Office, Regional Commercial, Neighborhood
Commercial to Multi-Residential - High Density, Multi-residential- High Density/Office,
Church, Regional Commercial/Office, Office, Regional Commercial, Community
Commercial/Office, Public, contingent upon the following:
1. The revision is submitted to and approved by the Metropolitan Council.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 13th day of
December, 2005.
