Individual Table Discussions
There will be four tables of Planning Commissioners with five to seven
commissioners at each. Suggested discussion topics for the tables
include:
o Procedures and Approaches
■ As a Planning Commissioner, what aspects of the job do you
find frustrating or difficult?
■ Have the other commissioners found a way to make those
aspects go better?
■ How does your Planning Commission interrelate with the City
Council? What works and what does not?
o What trends/key issues do you see coming? How should cities
address them?
o What opportunities do you see for improving bikeway/walkway
interconnectivity between the three cities?
o What do you see as the land use and transportation future of the I-
494 corridor? How should the three cities coordinate their land use
and transportation planning efforts?
o Discuss any issues of specific interest to the table (possible
suggested topics include: sustainability/LEED standards, community
internet access efforts, residential on -street parking, attitudes
toward building height, monster homes, electronic signs and
billboards, other).
Meeting Recap
At the end of the meeting, there will be a chance for individual Planning
Commissioners to highlight to the wider group any key points or "take-
aways" that were learned through discussion at their table.
