ITEM FOR PLANNING COMMISSION CONSIDERATION:
Annual Planning Commission Bike Tour of Richfield.
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
No action is recommended.
II. BACKGROUND
We will be leaving at 7 PM on Monday July 11 from the west parking lot at the Shops at
Lyndale for the Annual Planning Commission Bike Tour. Bruce Nordquist, Housing and
Redevelopment Manager, and Patrick Smith, Community Development Manager will
accompany us and provide commentary on redevelopment along the 1 -494 corridor. We
will begin with the successfully completed Meridian Crossings, the Shops at Lyndale
and Kensington Park. Then our ride will take us by each of the parcels designated in
the Moratorium area along 1 -494. We will discuss:
Timing of study and role of consultants
What do we want this place to be
How do we compliment the south side of the "garden corridor"
Potential /preferred /practical uses
Opportunities and challenges
Node and corridor outcomes
494 improvements
Attached is a map showing tour stops and the 494 Moratorium area.
