SUBJECT: Upcoming Schedule
The study session on September 14 is cancelled. We do not have any pressing items
to discuss, and, until we are back to full strength, I don't think it is useful to schedule any
education - related sessions.
Here is a forecast of upcoming items:
September 18, FOWL Ball Classic: I believe Dan is organizing this annual event. Talk
to Dan about playing.
September 28, Regular Meeting: There are a couple of public hearings scheduled for
this meeting. One of the hearings is to review a conditional use permit application to
add a gas station at 1208 East 66th Street. In the past, auto - related uses have
generated some controversy.
September 29, PASSS Advisory Committee Meeting: You should have received
information from Perry about this meeting.
October 4, City Council Study Session: This is the annual joint meeting with the City
Council to talk about projects the Planning Commission has been involved with.
I have also been working with Judie Erickson from St. Louis Park to set up a joint
meeting with both Planning Commissions. Part of the difficulty in scheduling such a
session is that we meet on Tuesday evenings and they meet on Wednesday evenings.
They are willing to meet on a Tuesday if we find one that works. They are also
wondering if we are willing to meet on a Wednesday. Please be prepared to discuss
possible dates on the 28th. We may also want to wait to do the meeting when we have
more Commission members.
Once we have new Commission members, I will be scheduling a training session at one
of our study sessions. We have done this in the past when we've had several new
members. This is an opportunity for experienced members to assist in orienting new
members.
