RESOLUTION NO. 9580
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RICHFIELD PUBLIC SAFETY/POLICE TO ACCEPT A
DONATION OF $1,000 FROM THE WAL-MART FOUNDATION TO BE APPLIED TO
THE POLICE CANINE UNIT
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department Police division, through its Director,
received a check for $1 ,000 from the Wal-Mart Foundation through its Bloomington Wal-
Mart Store, designating the funds to be used for the canine unit; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires every acceptance of a grant or
devise of real or personal property on terms prescribed by the donor be made by
resolution of more than two-thirds majority of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the donation is a means of thanking the Police K-9 Unit for the use of
Richfield's drug-detecting Labrador in mutual aide areas of law enforcement with the City
of Bloomington.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Director Dan Scott will accept the
donation of $1 ,000 to be placed in the forfeiture fund and directed for use by the K-9 Unit
of the Public Safety Department, Police Division.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 8th day of
February 2005.
