Special Worksession
June 28, 2005
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kirsch at 5:30 p.m.
Members Present:
Martin Kirsch, Mayor; Bill Kilian; Susan Rosenberg; Fred Wroge; and Sue
Sandahl.
Staff Present:
Steven Devich, City Manager; Bruce Palmborg, Community Development
Director; Mike Eastling, Public Works Director; Brad Sveum, Acting Fire
Services Director; Jim Topitzhofer, Recreation Services Director; Dan Scott,
Public Safety Director; and Nancy Gibbs, City Clerk.

Public Safety Director Scott introduced Martin Costello, Richfield Criminal Prosecuting
Attorney.
Mr. Costello provided a powerpoint presentation explaining his role as a prosecuting attorney
for the City of Richfield.
Council Member Wroge asked Mr. Costello if there was a better way to handle lawn mowing
concerns.
Mr. Costello replied that he would have to review the City ordinance.
Mayor Kirsch directed City staff to follow up on the lawn mowing options and report back to
the City Council.
Item # 2
Public Works Director Eastling presented background information on the 66th Street/17th
Avenue intersection project.
Council Member Kilian wants residents to understand the difference between the 17th Avenue
intersection project and the 66th Street/Portland Avenue intersection project.

Mayor Kirsch directed City staff to provide the City Council a memo on the timeline of both
projects.
The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 6:35 p.m.
