2025-11-12 Resolution 12363City of Richfield November 12, 2025 County of Hennepin State of Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 12363 Motion by: Burk Seconded by: Coleman-Woods RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR ISD #280’S SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) awarded ISD #280 with a Safe Routes to School Planning Assistance grant in 2024 to create an updated Safe Routes to School Comprehensive Plan for the district’s campuses; and WHEREAS, in 2009, the City of Richfield and ISD #280 collaboratively developed a Safe Routes to School Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, in 2014, the Safe Routes to School Comprehensive Plan was updated through a grant from the Minnesota Statewide Health Improvement Partnership; and WHEREAS, in 2024/2025, the updated Safe Routes to School Comprehensive Plan was developed with participation by district policymakers and staff, city policymakers and staff, Bloomington Public Health staff, and community members; and WHEREAS, the plan identifies 44 infrastructure projects; and WHEREAS, 32 of those projects are within the sole jurisdiction of the City of Richfield; and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield invests in infrastructure to best serve today’s and tomorrow’s residents, businesses, and visitors; and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield ensures that City services are accessible to people of all races, ethnicities, incomes, and abilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Richfield supports ISD #280’s updated Safe Routes to School Comprehensive Plan and will work with the district to implement the City’s identified goals over the life of the plan. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 12th day of November, 2025.
