Regular Meeting
November 11,.1958
The bong Range Capital Improvements Pl~i~iing Commission met
November 11, 1958 in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall at
7:00 p:m.
Members present were: Coombs, Renshaw, and Grund itz.
Absent: Erspamer, t•~oerner.
Ex-officio members present: None
Absent: Gasterland, Rumpel, Serstock and Van Kreve len.
Minutes:
Motion by Coombs, seconded by Grunditz to approve minutes of the
October 14 , 1958 meeting. Carried.
1._ Thoroughfares, Beautification:
bir. Bubbers, the Administrative.Assistant, had submitted the
Report vn Thoroughfares with a covering letter to the Village Council.
Action on this Report would be deferred until Council reaction was
received.
Mayor Keldsen appeared before the Gommission at 8:2Q p.m. He
expressed his appreciation and that of the Council for the work which
the Commission had done. The Commission discussed with him ways in
which they could be effective in a ttbeautifying the villagest campaign.
The Administrative Assistant would check with the Village Attorney
as to present ordinances which apply to the village in the field of
beautif~.cation to give the Commission some idea as to their effecti~~_
Hess. Mayor Keldsen painted out that the administrative staff is
willing to enforce ordinances if the public is behind them.. He also
asked the Commission to consider a village-wide tree planting effort.
2. Village Hall Expansions
There was discussion of .the expansion of the Pillage Hall, and
it was suggested that Plan A for this expansion be tentatively given
a number l priority on our list of capital improvements. This subject
would be brought up again when the full membership of the Commission
was present.
3. Information to Press:
Another point which would be discussed with the full membership
would be the method of communicating with public newspapers. It was
suggested that copies of any letter or communication which the Comte
mission wished to send to the press should b~ given to b4~~h the School
board and the Village Council. This would not mean that -the sending.

Members of the Long Range Capital Improvements Flanning Com-
mission were invited to hear Dr. Keller speak at the Citizen's
Le-ague~ meeting on November 18th, and they will be re~ilnd~~ ~~ te1e-
phone -b~fare that date.

Motion by Coombs, seconded by Grunditz to adjourn at 9:00 p.':a.
