Members present were: Gasterland, Grunditz, Woerner and Hen sh aw Absent: Arundel Ex~Officio Members Present were: Van Krevelen, Serstock, Rumpel and Gunderson Absent: None 1. Minutes _.... Motion by Renshaw, seconded by Woerner-that the minutes of the special meeting of November 27, 195? be approved as corrected.. Carried. ~ . Mr. Gasterland and Mr. McInnis had attended the specis3. meeting set up by the Edina Planning Commission and Mr. Gasterland gave a report of the meeting. Motion by Renshaw, seconded by Grund itz that Mr. Gasterland` __ ask Council approval for the Richfield Long Range P~.anning C©mmiss ion participation in future meetings with these other. tomstuaities. Carried. Mr. Gasterland recommended that the Council give consideration to the hiring of a professional planner. Pro iect Rec:uest Priorities Mr. Gasterland presented the tentative list of priorities given project requests by the official members of the Long Range Capital= Improvements Planning Commission and asked for ~a~nent. Mr. Moline, Village Accountant, was unab~Q to be present at this m~eetsg~ -~~ _ Mr. Jolly., Village Engineer, was present and explained his breakdown of Project Request No. 1 into A through E, The Long Range Capital Improvements Planning Gommission members would set no time schedule for the project requests until Even sen and Associates could be consulted: 4. Interchante of Pro~,ect Reguests No. ?...and 13. Mr. Gunderson pointed out the need for the Junior High School before the elementary school north of 66th Street, so project request numbers ? and 13 were interchanged. 5. .Liquor Store Revenues for Qgeratin~ Ex`ge Discussion was held about the advisability of using revenue from the liquor stores fcr operating expenses. It was felt that such revenue should be he ld for capital expenditure but that this would have to be a gradual thing and could not be accomplished in one year. 6. Public Safety Building .~...,.. The question as to whether the Long Range Capital Improve- ments Planning Commission stood for a new Public Safety Building or an addition to the present Village Hall was raised. The consensus was that more space was needed but no agreement was reached as to whether it was necessary to take a stand on a new building versus an-addition, so this question would be brought up later. More inf ormation would be needed if such a stand was taken. Project Request #28 "Addition to and Alterations to Village Hall~t, would be changed to read 'Additional Space for Operating Village Halln. 7. Availability of the Schools for Recreational Purposes Mr. Rumpel explained that the schools were available for most recreational purposes, with few exceptions, and they were being ~~ used to the utmost. `8. , Ad~ journment Motion by.Woerner, seconded by Renshaw to adjourn at 8:40 P.M.
