The Long Mange Capital Improvements Planning Commission met February 14, 195?, in the Council Chatr~bers of the Village Hall of ?i00 P.A~. Members present were: Gasterland, l~rundel, Grunditz, t~Joerner and Renshaw l~bsent: None Ex-~}fficio Nierrbers present were: Van Krevelen tlbsent: Rumpel, Gunderson and Serstock Mr. Gunnar E'~hlquist represented the School Board in place of Gunderson, ~ :..+~~~ut e e Aotion by Arundel, seconded by ilJaerner, that the minutes of the regular meeting of January lO, 1957, be approved. Carried. 2. Nieetin~s: Public and Press ~-_-., Motion by ~ienshaw, seconded by ~doerner, that the meetings be 13 opened to the public, provided that anyone wishing to appear make their request in writing to the Village Manager stating their topic of interest. This request shall then be placed on the agenda for the next regular meeting and the members of the Long mange Planning Commission notified. in ample time so that they may do any research that is necessary on the topic`to be discussed. Periodical reports will be released to the press regarding the progress of the Fong Eange Planning Commission. 3. School Tour. Manual and Report of Recreation Department - - Van Krevelen distributed a manual "Metropolitan Transportation Problem~Tby ~~Tilfred Owen ar~d a report from the Recreation Department, "An appraisal of Richfield's public Kecration Facili.ties." ~. ftecreati:onal Advisory Committee - a.rr.r+.r...r rr-rrrr r ~ Grunditz reported ors her attendance at the Recreational Advisory Committee meeting. Motion by Henshaw, seconded by f~Joerner, that the Long s~ange Planning Commission wishs to work in close cooperation with the aecreation- aI ~-dvisory Committee, requests that that committee provide a record of - thei r minutes for the Long Range Planning Commission. Carried. 6. Needs of the Village Arundel asked that the report, "Survey of ~'ublic Opinion ",con- ducted by the r~.innesota Valley ~~Jomen's Club , be distributed to the members of the Long Range Planning Commission. Wood Lake Woerner asked that a preliminary report be prepared by the t'.dministrative Interns on the fe~sibil~.ty of reconditioning `food Lane ~• 17 far recreational purposes, especially the dredging of the lake for swim-- ming . 11.
