CALL TO ORDER/APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chair Johanson called the regular CSC meeting to order at 7:02.
STAFF REPORTS
Recreation Programs
Murphy provided a report on recreation programs and athletics (staff, program updates, etc).
Recreation Services
RS Director Huemiller reported on the following:
Working on the operating budget.
Wood Lake: electricity was turned off in June. The old building is scheduled to be demolished in August. Working on exhibit design.
Urban Wildland coming up on July 26.
Wood Lake is working on a new mission statement.
Pool: developing scope of work for the pool project at the end of the summer.
Splash pad opened the week of July 4.
Contract negotiations have begun for design of Vets Park landscape architecture work.
Donaldson playground: construction starts at the beginning of August.
Donaldson park building project has been postponed; staff determined that it serves relatively few people compared to other work that can be done elsewhere in the parks, as identified
by the revised parks master plan.
Arena improvements (flooring, fascia, soffit) are planned to begin by fall.
Grants were received to install solar arrays on the Ice Arena and the Public Works building.
Contracting with Great River Greening to survey plants in Wood Lake, Vets, and Richfield Lake and develop a management plan.
Fall Program Guide soon to come out: will also include a general newsletter.
Christian and Roosevelt basketball hoops were torn down. New ones ordered.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the regular June meeting. Approved by consensus.

The regular August CSC meeting was cancelled by consensus.
