STAFF REPORTS
Recreation Services
Jeremy Johnson reported on park building rentals restarting after eight years, saying that staff took inventory and determined condition and opened up rentals for three of the enclosed
buildings. $62/four hours. He summarized the rentals we’ve received so far this year and anticipates a lot of great usage this year. It fills a need for weekend usage of a building for
events like small birthday parties. He talked about the Bluetooth-enabled locks that will enable people to unlock the building through remote permission from staff. He said Public Works
can add the building to their routes for cleanup. He said that it was built in 1994, but is in very good shape. Whalen mentioned food preparation space. Tompkins mentioned using them
for coworking space. Huemiller said that the buildings are used for the playground program and could be utilized for programming by Wood Lake during the construction of the new building.
Huemiller provided the staff update:
Filling pool, first teams will swim May 28
Splash pad supplies are being delivered, construction will begin.
RFP for Arena prime-time ice time rental will be sent out. Neighboring communities’ ice sheets will be down this year, so we are looking to enter into a five-year agreement.
