Call to Order/Approval of Minutes
Chair Johanson called the meeting to order at 7:03.
Staff Reports
Recreation Services
Huemiller provided the staff update, including…
Wood Lake’s Candlelight and Ice saw 1,750 ticket sales and 1,350 in attendance.
Community Center play date night in January saw 120 people.
Work began on Local Sales Tax public engagement process.
Community Center Parking Study will begin soon.
Wood Lake Nature Center design and public engagement process is underway and an RFP for a construction manager will be issued.
Food Drive will be held in February; families can volunteer to be a drop-off site.
Adult sports leagues are seeing strong numbers (basketball, dodgeball).
Proposals for Donaldson and Fairwood Park play equipment will be reviewed.
Donaldson Park building reconstruction RFP will be assembled.
Hiring for summer staff (playground staff, pool staff, etc). Will attend job fairs at Holy Angels, Richfield High, and the U of M.
An offer has been made for the final Recreation Supervisor vacancy; when that’s filled, the recruitment will begin for the Recreation Manager position.
