Local Sales Tax
Markle said that the CSC’s recommendations were brought to the City Council in December to pursue local sales tax for a Wood Lake Building Project, renovation of Donaldson and Taft Parks,
renovation of Vets Park (including upgrades to the pool and shelter/mini-golf area), park trail renovation, and/or a new community center. She said that the proposed local sales tax
will be brought to the Council for consideration next Tuesday and, if there’s a vote to forward the process, it would be brought to the MN State Legislature in 2023.
Bike Park Design
Markle introduced Adam Buck from Pathfinder, a bike park builder. She showed a preliminary site plan prepared by Pathfinder of the track and features that will be built on the site.
She said public engagement would be in early spring and construction would begin in mid- to late-summer, with a grand opening in September.
Event Partnership Guidelines
Markle said that she and staff will be drafting a document that provides expectations and guidelines for groups and businesses who want to partner with the City of Richfield for events
and programs. She said the document will be brought back to the CSC in the spring.
