Approval of Minutes/Agenda Thompson moved, seconded by Smieja, to approve the minutes of the regular April minutes. Approved, ayes all. Rudolph moved, seconded by Thompson, to approve the agenda for tonight’s meeting. Approved, ayes all. Staff Reports Recreation Services Topitzhofer reported on the following: Friends of Wood Lake Fundraising Dinner: Was held Friday, April 28. 2nd highest attendance ever. Wood Lake Wildlife Overlook: <Improvements to the duck-blind area, funded by a private donation from former teacher Marlene Glaus. Unity In the Community: <To be held at Vets Park on Thursday, May 25. Honoring All Vets Memorial Day Ceremony: To be held at Vets Park on <Monday, May 29, 2:00 pm. Discussion Items Gypsy Moth Report <Public Works Superintendent Link presented a report on the recent aerial application to treat the gypsy moth isolated infestation in the northwest part of the City. Outdoor Pool Tour and Report <Facilities Manager Weiby led a tour of the Richfield Pool facilities and reported on plans and outlook for the 2017 season. Other Items Arena Refrigeration Upgrade <The group discussed the State-mandated updates to the ice refrigeration system at the Richfield Ice Arena and talked about its impact on the capital improvement plan, and other financial or logistical options to alleviate the cost of the work. Committee Reports Transportation Commission: Felgate reported. Planning Commission: Cintrón de Núñez reported. Arts Commission: Rudolph reported. Friendship City Commission: Schaeferlane and Topitzhofer reported on the new statue, created by a sculptor from Heredia, Costa Rica, that has been installed at Heredia Park in Richfield.
