Discussion Items None
Committee Reports Outdoor Pool Task Force
Outdoor pool is coming along nicely. The foundation is in for the bathhouse and there will be a lot of structural progress in the next two weeks. Colors have been picked. Work will
continue this fall as late as possible. Cement can be done in the late fall/winter. Still plan on June 14, 2003 opening date.
Skate Park Task Force
Jim met with Best Buy to bring Stacy H. up to date on the funding request. Still looks hopeful and we should know in December. Jim mentioned that he has continued his effort to meet
the requests of the surrounding neighbors about trees to block the view/noise. This is completed and the neighbors seem satisfied (they helped pick the tree locations).
FOWL
Bob Dietl reported that Fowl raised $6500.00 net at the Fowl Ball Classic. He reminded us that there are family programs each Sunday and mentioned the Haunted Halloween event and the
Halloween Eve event.
Planning Commission
No report was given.
Richfield Community Human Services Planning Council (RCHSPC)
Linda reported that the group met with the City Manager on funding available. Affordable housing was a topic of discussion. Chad Sharkey volunteered to be the liaison to the Community
Center Inter-Council.
Staff Reports Topitzhofer reported on the following:
A note that the Ball Field Task Force will be setting up meetings with the youth groups to discuss the future.
Jim commented on the article and editorials regarding locked gates at Roosevelt Park and Lyndale Field. He talked to the individual and explained that the fields are locked due to vandalism
and dog droppings. This may change if an alternate leash-free area is set up. Sun Current may do a follow up article clarifying the issue.
Frank presented the proposed ice skate rink set up for the winter. There will be three parks with warming houses and four without (spread evenly throughout the three wards). The commission
favored the proposal.
Adjournment Motion and second to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
