CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kirsch at 6:10 p.m.

Members Present:Martin Kirsch, Mayor; Sue Sandahl; Susan Rosenberg (arrived at
6:20 p.m.); and Kristal Stokes.
Members
Not present:Russ Susag.
Staff Present:Steven Devich, Acting City Manager; Thomas Ferber, City Clerk;
Michael Eastling, Public Works Director; and George Atkinson,
Engineering Supervisor.

Engineering Supervisor Atkinson reviewed the schedules, costs, details and
answered questions regarding the following 2000 proposed construction and maintenance
projects:

Sealcoat bituminous

Repair/replace damaged concrete curb and sidewalk

Mill and overlay bituminous streets

Construct a pre-treatment pond around Richfield Lake
x
Re-install noise wall salvaged from 77th Street and Lyndale Avenue

Relocate traffic control signal at 67th Street and Nicollet Avenue
x
Reconstruct 70th Street between Penn Avenue and Russell Avenue

Hennepin County Roadside Enhancements Grant Program: Proposal to move
sidewalks away from curb and underground utilities at two locations: Portland
Avenue from Crosstown 62 to near 65th Street and 66th Street along Veterans
Memorial Park

Restripping of pavement markings on 76th Street
Public Works Director Eastling discussed the financing options regarding the
additional costs of undergrounding utilities such as ratepayer assessments as proposed by
the Public Utilities Commission.
Engineering Supervisor Atkinson reviewed the planning for future public works
projects in 2001.
