Regular Meeting
August 11, 1997
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kirsch at 7:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Members Present:Martin Kirsch, Mayor; Russ Susag; and Kristal Stokes.
Members Not
Present:Michael Sandahl and Susan Rosenberg.
M/Susag, S/Stokes to determine the absence of Council Member Sandahl and
Council Member Rosenberg as excused absences.
Motion carried 3-0.
Staff Present :Thomas Ferber, City Clerk.
Mayor Kirsch stated that it had been anticipated that a quorum of the City Council
would not be present for this meeting and that no official business would be conducted by
the City Council. He stated that because a quorum of the City Council was present, it
would be appropriate for the City Council to take action to continue the three public
hearings listed for continuation on the agenda.

ANY ITEM NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA.

Michael Addiss, 6840 Russell Avenue, stated he was present because he had been
told that consideration of his application for a residential kennel license was scheduled for
this evening.
City Clerk Ferber explained that because it was anticipated there would not be a
quorum of the City Council present, agenda items such as this residential kennel license
had been rescheduled for consideration at the August 25 City Council meeting.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TEXT AMENDMENT TO AUGUST 25, 1997.

M/Stokes, S/Susag to continue the public hearing on a resolution regarding a
Comprehensive Plan text amendment to the August 25, 1997 City Council meeting.
Motion carried 3-0.
Item #2CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION REGARDING
ADOPTION OF CITY’S NEW, UPDATED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO
AUGUST 25, 1997. C.L. NO. 202
M/Stokes, S/Susag to continue the public hearing on a resolution regarding
adoption of the City’s new, updated Comprehensive Plan to the August 25, 1997 City
Council Meeting.
Motion carried 3-0.
Item #3CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING AND SECOND READING OF
SIGN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT REGARDING EXTENSION PERIOD
FOR NONCONFORMING BUSINESS SIGNS TO AUGUST 25, 1997.
C.L. NO. 203
M/Stokes, S/Susag to continue the public hearing and second reading of a sign
ordinance amendment regarding an extension period for nonconforming business signs to
the August 25, 1997 City Council meeting.
Motion carried 3-0.
