Welcome back of Delegation members at City Council meeting (7:00 PM):
Cynthy Mandl presented a summary of the March 2‐14, 2016 Costa Rica trip at
the City Council meeting, was recognized for her role as official ambassador to
Heredia, Costa Rica, and was re‐appointed for a 3‐year term. Local Delegation
members who were present were awarded certificates of appreciation for their
participation in the trip.
Commission Meeting: The meeting was called to order by Ahmad Ansari at 7:30
PM, following the City Council’s welcome back of Delegation members.
Commission members present: Ahmad Ansari, Mary Olafson, JoAnn Boraas,
Martin Kirsch, Mary Christenson, Pixie Pixler, Dave Delzer, Rori Coleman‐Wood,
student member Hannia Sharon Amegee as well as Cynthy Mandl, official
ambassador from Richfield to Heredia, and staff liaisons Jim Topitzhofer and
Karen Shragg.
Commission members absent: None
Guests: Roger Swanson, Ken Mandl and several local members of the Delegation
to Heredia, Costa Rica trip
Minutes of the February 18, 2016: The minutes were not reviewed due to
technical printing difficulties, and will be reviewed at the April meeting.
Treasurer’s Report: January 31, 2016 balance ‐ $30,861.53; February 29, 2016
balance ‐ $3,311.79
Certificates of Appreciation: Roger Swanson received a Certificate of
Appreciation as outgoing treasurer. Recent student members Tenzin Dolkar and
Eric Melendez were not present at the meeting. Their certificates will be mailed
to them.
Next Meeting: 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2016 – Richfield Municipal Center
(Heredia Room), 6700 Portland Avenue
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 7:45. Commission members and
guests stayed to celebrate Marty Kirsch’s birthday
