Richfield Municipal Building – Heredia Room 7:00 PM January 21st, 2015
Attendance: Mary Olafson, Ahmad Ansari, Cynthy Mandl, Marty Kirsch, Dave Delzer, Roger Swanson ,
Mary Christenson, Pixie Pixler
Excused Members: Rori Woods, JoAnn Boraas
Guest: Jacob Kastl, Richfield High School student, and member of Seeds of Change, a non‐profit
Minnesota Corporation with the mission of enhancing bioscience education for high school students and
creating more science‐related careers. Jacob’s focus is the Leaf Cutter Ant’s ability to produce
antibiotics.
Treasurer’s report: $20,342.40 as of 12‐31‐15 expecting to collect approximately $25,000 for the Costa
Rica trip.
Heredia:
Sculpture updates: Cynthy will meet with the artist during the Costa Rica trip
Richfield Park: No updates
Heredia Park Sign: No updates
Fundraising: No updates

Old Business:
14 people are going on the Costa Rica trip March 2nd to the 14th 2016
We are compiling items to bring to Heredia to donate to schools, organizations, and health service
groups.
Walking canes with four tips for stability (Cynthy will check)
Children’s soccer shoes sizes 4,5,6 (Rori will check)
Soccer shirts for teens (Rori will check)
Hair bands and children’s underwear and socks (Mary O). Thank you Mary C. for the $10.00
donation.
Toothbrushes and floss for orphans (about 45) (JoAnn will check)
Computer flash cards for Schools (about 30) (Ahmad will check)
Used Nintendo or Wii devices for exercise programs at the senior centers (Rori will check)
Adult day care items (JoAnn)
New Business:
We have a new City Liaison: Jim Topitzhofer, Richfield’s Recreation Director
