MeeƟng called to order at 7:02 PM
Approval of Minutes: Stephanie E moƟoned, Janie seconded, all in favor
A RAC Contact List has been updated and will be emailed to all RAC members.
New Commissioner training was held. The recording was emailed out so any members who did
not aƩend can view it.
Commission Chair training is on March 22nd from 6:30 – 8:30 PM for Aric and Stephanie J to
aƩend.
Stephanie J took an inventory of RAC’s current supplies and will create a list to keep in our
Google Drive. Next step will be to organize the supplies, which Annie and Aric have volunteered
to do.
RAC t-shirts are available for new members to grab at the end of this meeƟng. These are to be
work at future RAC events.
Previous AcƟviƟes Update
Aric picked up remaining winter planter decoraƟons, though barely any were leŌ. We will
rethink this acƟvity for the coming year. Perhaps host a decoraƟng event at the first winter
market.
2024 PrioriƟzed AcƟviƟes
Art in our Schools: CollaboraƟng on Arts experiences with Richfield Schools
o Dual Language School is hosƟng an outdoor carnival on May 17 from 6-8 pm (indoors if
it rains). RAC will aƩend and host an acƟvity, possibly marble painƟng and pipe cleaner
flower making. Aric will get approval from the school on those ideas, and we will finalize
plans next meeƟng.
o Annie went to the PTO meeƟng at the STEM School to introduce herself and RAC. They
seemed excited for us to get involved! We will aim to get involved at events next school
year.
o Annie will reach out to Centennial.
o John will try to connect with some body at Sheridan Hills when he is there next.
o BJ will reach out to try to get a contact at the Middle School.
o RAC will host an art opening recepƟon for the High School Seniors’ Art Show at the
Community Center in May. Specific date TDB.
Art in our Community: UpdaƟng RAC materials – UpdaƟng/InnovaƟng Art Walk Brochure
o The list of public art in Richfield will be sent out to RAC members via a Google Drive
spreadsheet. RAC members can sign up on that sheet for art to visit, verify loca Ɵon and
details, and photograph.
Art in our Community: Summer 2024 Farmer’s Market
o Dates: June 15th, July 13th, and August 17th – Arrive at 9:30 AM, done around 11:30 AM
o AcƟviƟes brainstorm: Pipe cleaner jewelry, vegetable stamping, bike decoraƟng, seed
art, marble painƟng
o Will gauge who is available these dates at next meeƟng
2024 AddiƟonal AcƟviƟes/Ideas
o Karl will check about Earth Day plans at Wood Lake Nature Center
o Discussed idea of having a commiƩee liaison with the TransportaƟon CommiƩee, to explore
incorporaƟng art into the new transportaƟon plan
o RAC will keep other events on our radar to potenƟally get involved with in the coming months:
July 4th events, PennFest (can sign up now! There will potenƟally be an art zone this year), Bark
in the Park (revisit this idea, potenƟally get involved with trunk or treat or pumpkin giveaway
instead), authors event, and winter planter decoraƟons.
Ongoing AcƟviƟes
o Pride Roundabout maintenance
o Aric will compile a list of supplies needed, and BJ will follow up with the owner of the
paint store regarding a discount or donaƟons. We will target a weekend in June to
touchup the paint.
o LiƩle Free Library
o Annie filled it up with kids’ books.
o At next meeƟng, we will bring boxes and decorate them for a Book Drive. We will place
a box at the Community Center, Wood Lake, City Hall, and the Ice Arena,
o John will design a flyer!
Content: Book drive for RAC’s LiƩle Free Library, located outside of the Richfield
Ice Arena. Looking for family-friendly books in any language for any age.
o Photo Contest is currently going on! Will promote this with the high school seniors. Please share
with your networks as well: Richfield, MN (richfieldmn.gov)
o There is a potenƟal opportunity with Hennepin County to receive funding for art programming.
This could be a fit for partnering with Body Techs Rx Wellness, who is interested in engaging
with local youth to create a mural on their building.
Community Services Commission Update // Staff Update
o Wood Lake Nature Center has a survey out for community engagement for the design process.

o Fee Assistance has been rolled out for rec programming and has already been very successful.
o The newest Program Guide is out, and several new programming opƟons are available this year.
o Hiring is underway for the summer.
o Discussed the Local Sales Tax opƟon that will be on this fall’s ballot.
