ADVISORY BOARD OF HEALTH NOTES
Monday, February 24, 2025 6:00 p.m.

Welcome and Introductions were made by everyone in attendance.
Approve January 2025 minutes and February 2025 agenda:
January minutes and February agenda approved unanimously
The group discussed the overall themes of the CHA presentation and what could be done in the
community. Interest in access to data from other sources that might give a bigger picture of
issues in the community rather than just the youth assessment.
Discussion of upcoming commissioner trainings in March.
ABH bylaws signed by ABH members
Select Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary:
The ABH voted in Katrina DeVore as Chair, Rebecca Case as Vice Chair and Kelly Hauer as
Secretary for 2025.
Cannabis Substance Use Prevention grant:
a. Total grand for BER - $109,779.
b. Can set aside $20,000 for Richfield’s use; we will need to create a work plan and
submit to MDH.
c. Discussion of what we can do with a ‘Richfield Cannabis Facts’ website or PDF;
would like to debut this at Penn Fest: would like to come up with approximately
ten points to put together in a webpage and/or PDF that discusses
conversationally items like Richfield’s ordinances, dispensary requirements,
special event requirements, smoking rules in public spaces, etc. Also include
links to further resources such as MDH website, U of M research center,
Richfield’s ordinances, links to news articles, videos, etc.
d. Include information on private growing - this is a new topic to include in the
cannabis facts - need to get information on Richfield’s ordinances.
e. Have Jennifer advise how we can utilize resources to help publish information if
we create a webpage. Can reuse the main facts/bullet points as a one pager
printable.
f. Use March’s meeting as a working session; redistribute October 2024 meeting
minutes to review information for what to include in the Richfield Cannabis
Facts site/handout. Each committee member identifies topics discussed in Oct
to include in the facts page. Wireframe/layout placement of the information,
additional links, news articles.
Penn Fest 2025 discussion:
g. Sunday, September 21st.
h. Do we want a table again? Yes. What topics? Bring back Adopt-a-Drain, cannabis
facts.
i. Discuss how we can source giveaways to promote the cannabis website.
j. Idea: include questions of discussion by having people vote by adding a corn
kernel to their cup of choice, spinning wheel guessing game, etc.
