School Board GLOW (LGBTQI resource group) coordination? Ken will send contact
information to Tyler; School board has openings
City Council/Liaisons No new updates for Legion Apartments project; developers would
request HRA funding. Opportunity to provide feedback at upcoming
city council meetings. New Brighton and Minnetonka will co-host
human rights roundtable 9/30 6-8pm, details will be shared. Need to
reschedule November meeting.
Public Safety Liaison report Successful Night to Unite
Next Thursday 8/14 is Unity in the Community 4-7 pm at Veterans
Park
Interviews are in process for new deputy chief

1. Motion to approve Hispanic Heritage proclamation with
slight modifications 1st/2nd: Karole/Chris. Motion passed;
Mady is out, revisit Indigenous Heritage Month proclamation
2. Nothing new today, continue brainstorming resource ideas
B. 1. Sign-up sheet is ready; Val will send out via email. Mike will
make interactive poll. Karole will confirm registration.
C. Tapestry hosts volunteer lawyer network monthly, usually has
specialties with labor and immigration. Discussion about potential
collaboration, appetite for continuing HRC-organized legal clinics.
Tiffany will reach out to volunteer legal networks and look into
community center availability for November.

Dana will follow up with ACLU. Potential to invite Mid-MN Legal Aid
back in early 2026?
