City Representatives: Jay Henthorne - Public Safety, Brittany Bartlett – Equity Coordinator, Ken Liss - School Board, Walter Burk – city council Call to Order & Attendance at 6:32 pm by Tyler Approval of Agenda Motion: 1st /2nd T.G/D.S. Approval of Minutes Motion: 1st /2nd K.K./M.V. Open Public Comment: Anyone who is not on the agenda who would like to address the Commission on items not on the agenda. N/A – no public attendees Reports Chair’s report M.G. has resigned effective immediately, leaving one vacancy. Motion passed to approve request for mid-term replacement of M.G. City council will appoint a new commissioner, who will serve through the end of M.G.’s term in January 2026 1st/2nd T.O./T.G. Vice Chair’s report None Secretary's report None School Board None City Council/Liaisons Walter provided updates on short term rental ordinance, housing projects including Legion Apartments Public Safety Liaison report National Night Out/Night to Unite is 8/5 New Business A, 2025 Work Plan Review i. Proclamations Approval & Calendar Review 1. Tim - ADA Proclamation ii. Literature Development B. Penn Fest Planning Kickoff (Sunday September 21, 1 to 5pm) A. upcoming proclamations for Hispanic Heritage Month (Callmie), Indigenous Heritage Month (Mady) 1. Motion passed to approve ADA proclamation with minor updates (mention organizations within Richfield) 1st/2nd: T.B./K.K. 2. Seeking contributors to resource material on various topics (such as legal aid, access to healthcare, housing, etc) B. brainstorming activity and swag ideas Valerie will send out sign-up form for booth volunteers Potential coordination with Welcoming Week Old Business Short term rental ordinance update from Walter (see above).Final language is pending, tentative cap of 100 rentals.
