Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid attending December meeting to present on legislative changes impacting landlords and tenants B. No news today C. Three attorneys confirmed. Focus on immigration, housing, and general human rights-oriented questions. Seeking interpreters. Flyer should be ready on Tuesday. D. Tabled for now E. Potential idea for 2025: commission open house. Potential involvement with planning for new community center? F. Commission will present to city council meeting at 11/26 G. Review Action Items 1. 2024 Workplan is in progress, will continue discussion at next meeting Announcements/Open Forum: Tim has reviewed the commission bylaws and has a few suggestions for updates. Changes must be approved through a vote and notification must be sent out at least 5 days ahead of the vote. ➔ Article 7 (clarification of vice-chair duties) ➔ Committees section ➔ Article 15 (removal guidelines for excessive absences) ➔ Article 17 (Violations of MN Human Rights Act) Motion: Tim will draft suggested updates and provide document to HRC members at least 5 days prior to December meeting. New business agenda item will be added to December meeting to discuss and vote on proposed changes. 1st/2nd Tiffany/Callmie.
