1. Call to Order & Attendance 6:37 p.m. by Burk
2. Approval of Agenda Motion: 1st /2nd T.G./M.G.

4. Open Public Comment Anyone who is not on the agenda who would like to address the
Commission on items not on the agenda.

Public Safety Liaison report New DEI Coordinator, Brittany Bartett, will be attending the
August HRC meeting.

A. Schedule is being sent around by Mike, Walter, and
Chris.
B. Read into record by T.G., will receive it from Mayor
Supple on July 25, 2023.
C. In testing phase.
D. Essay contest on issues in school, and access to
history. Will work with library, D.S. and T.G. to work
on grading criteria.
E. T.G. presented on Torrens property being cleared of
racial covenants.
F. The Commission discussed continued needs of
tenants to understand rights and remedy options.
Homeline and the Alliance discussed, T.G. to get
booklets on same from state A.G.’s office.
G. Richfield Middle school discussed as option,
sometime in October or November. T.G. to
coordinate with district court.
H. We are going to hold September meeting there, likely
only with personal expenditures from members.
I. Walter to follow up with state office.

J. Book banning theme explored, have the kids make
bookmarks.
K. M.G. is upgrading the experience based on lessons
learned from other local Pride festivals.
L. Tabled, T.G./M.Z.
M. Will happen September 22, 2023.
N. M.A. presented on issue of bus access for those with
disabilities. The Commission will explore sending a
letter to Metro Transit based on outcome of external
investigation into incidents of possible lack of access.
Announcements/Open Forum: Motion to move next meeting to August 10, 2023 T.B./M.G.
Next meeting: Thursday August 10, 2023.
