1. Call to Order & Attendance 6:35 after determining a quorum was present by Glubka
2. Approval of Agenda Motion to approve 1st / 2nd Olson / Goodemote
3. Approval of Minutes Motion to approve 1st / 2nd Ostendorf/Burk

1. In 2020 the gap in graduations rates have been eliminated potential
reasons
a. Same language used by all
b. AP history / social studies provided to all freshman students
c. Parental involvement
d. Consistent strategy
e. Planning groups
f. Equity policy with a series of commitment strategies
g. Guidelines being developed and will be provided in the
future.
City Council
Mary Supple
1. Blanca Martinez Gavina will be Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Administrator
2. Night to unite will be August 3rd
3. Peacemaker Minnesota is planning to ask for support from the
Richfield Foundation and the City of Richfield Social Service Grants.
4. Round abouts are being painted

Racial Covenants Past had looked at presentations including “Jim Crow of the North”
Olson to work with Just Deeds and City in making sure efforts are not
duplicated. Anderson volunteered to assist
Legal clinic Flaherty sent info to City Staff. Discussion on role of City Attorney.
Looking at mid fall to sponsor.
Penn Fest To be held on Sept 19th.
B. Organized collection 1. Starting in October
2. Prices reviewed - see website: Richfield, MN (richfieldmn.gov)
3. State required garbage, organics and recycling pick up to be
available

Calendar discussed will be reviewed by DEI administrator for
finalization. Look at calendar to identify proclamations,

RDAP partnership • Housing inclusive policy addresses both accessibility and
affordability which is unique for Richfield
• Advocating for waste pickup to address accessibility and
affordability needs of the community.

Proclamation of the City of Richfield
WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed on July 26, 1990, to ensure the civil rights of
citizens with disabilities; and
WHEREAS the City of Richfield affirms the principles of equality and inclusion for people with disabilities
as embodied in the Americans with Disabilities Act and the laws of the State of Minnesota, including the
Minnesota Human Rights Act; and
WHEREAS, numerous organizations across Minnesota, including the Richfield Disability Advocacy
Partnership (R-DAP) in Richfield, work with constituents and communities to expand opportunities for
Americans with disabilities by reducing barriers and changing perceptions; and
WHEREAS, the Richfield Human Rights Commission supported this proclamation at its June 1, 2021,
meeting and recommended the Richfield City Council do the same; and
Now, THEREFORE, I, Maria Regan Gonzalez, mayor of Richfield, on behalf of the Richfield City Council,
do hereby proclaim the month of July 2021 as Americans with Disabilities Awareness Month in the City
of Richfield and call on the people of Richfield to observe this month with appropriate programs,
activities, and ceremonies, and continue to support the civil rights of citizens with disabilities
throughout the year.
