II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING OF AUGUST 17, 2020.
M/Stratton, S/ Bruzek to approve the minutes.
Motion carried 3-0.
III. CERTIFICATION OF THE BATTALION CHIEF PROMOTION ELIGIBILITY ROSTER
Assistant Fire Chief Dobesh reviewed the certification process. He stated the position was posted and three applications were received. The candidates would then go through a simulation of second in command for a scene in process and a panel interview consisting of four people. President Stratton read the names of the applicants: Fire Captain Mark Armstrong, Fire Captain Jenell Wood and Firefighter Mark Watczak.
M/Stratton, S/ Bruzek to certify the Battalion Chief Promotion Eligibility Roster.
Motion carried 3-0. IV. OTHER BUSINESS Assistant Fire Chief Dobesh gave a brief update on Fire Chief Kewitsch. Unfortunately, his return has been postponed due to another cardiac event. He stated the department is hopeful
he will be able to return in December or January. He, along with the rest of the crew, are keeping things moving with hiring and promotions. President Stratton then asked about any other meetings during the remainder of 2020.
Assistant Fire Chief Dobesh stated the department still has an active Firefighter Eligibility
Roster for open positions. He also spoke of the newest member, Leon Chambers III, who started today.
Vice President Bruzek expressed his appreciation of meeting remotely and would like to continue web meetings for the future.
