RAC 2.6Richfield Arts Commission Meeting Minutes Thursday, February 6, 2014 7 p.m. in the community center http://www.cityofrichfield.org/officials/Commissions/arts.htm Commission Members present: Pete Dysart, Alex Dahl, Jackie Mihalik, Kelly Johnsen, Lisa Rudolph Absent excused: Kevin Klos, Dan Mlynarek, Willie Falwell Absent unexcused: Chad Patterson Community Service Commission Liaison present: Michele Thompson City Liaison present: MaryKaye Champa Guest: Jim Topitzhofer Agenda Item Presenter Discussion Action, if any Call to order  Meeting called to order at 7:07 p.m. Introductions  New RAC member Kelly Johnsen November and January minutes Pete  Minutes approved Report from City Liaison MaryKaye  Updated business cards w/ new logo  Updated roster  Richfield Rec brochure copy passed around  Event at Lyndale Gardens May 10th 12-8pm – ideas for a project – email Kevin if available to help  Dance recital set for April 11-12 77th Street renaming Jim T  General support for the idea  Concerns about addresses  Suggest working with Edina early  No names proposed at this time  Curious about development opportunities Cracked Walnut event Alex  maybe 25 in attendance  well run event  another event scheduled for April 3 at 7pm  can we make a local restaurant list? Posters On Board mural MaryKaye  They want a mural – can we facilitate them finding a mural artist?  Alex & Kelly are interested in helping Senior Art Tour MaryKaye  Tuesday June 10th 12:30-3:30  How can we help?  Contact Kevin if available Richfield Photo Contest Alex  Planning is progressing – planning on June/July submissions August selections  There will be multiple categories, under 18 is a separate  Digital submissions – winners possibly/probably displayed – photos must be taken in Richfield, but photographer does not need to be a resident  Prizes – looking for donations from local businesses/sponsors Adaptive Group event MaryKaye  Feb 19th 7-8:30pm  Tile painting activity planned  Glitter magnets also a possibility  Let Kevin know if you can help WCCO Excellent Educator award MaryKaye  Willie Falwell presented with the award in January  Nominated by Kevin Richfield Arts Commission Meeting Minutes Respectfully Submitted, Peter Dysart, Secretary of the RAC RAC Art Circuit Update MaryKaye  Penny Link in March-April, Kevin Klos in May-June, July-August is OPEN, Jim Rudolph in September- October, Richfield Elementary schools in November- December  Tony Bush (framed puzzles) in March-May, Nicole B in June-August, Alex Dahl in September-November, Penny Link in December-February ‘15 Continue to recruit future showings.
