Minutes‐ Approved by voice vote
Paige Dansinger‐ Paige Dansinger presented her ideas for some art projects in the City of Richfield.
Paige does a lot of work in augmented reality art projects and seemed and was interested in bringing he
experience to Richfield. She had many ideas both on a large and small scale for different locations for
doing inter active art projects that would incorporate the cities rich past. The commission will take her
presentation into consideration and may discuss it at future meetings.
Upcoming and On Going Commission Activities
4th of July event‐ Mia‐ Met with back from the chair of the Human Rights Commission. They do have a
spot in the parade and are open to have members from other commissions in the parade with them.
Mia, Sarah and Karin all said they may be available for the parade.
Art Display‐ Mia‐ The display case at City Hall will be full through the end of the year. It looks like there
will be an opening in the fall at the community center.
Entertainment in the Park‐ Karin said she would try to attend some of the noon performances.
Commission members were encouraged to attend as able and see if this an event that they can take on.
RAC Events‐ Larry‐ The first Farmers Market event will be on June 10th. The activity will be tie dyeing
pillow cases. Pillow cases for Pops. The other dates are August 12th and October 14th from 9:30 AM‐
11:30 AM.
Friendship Commission‐Alex/Sarah‐ Sarah said she is still waiting for the invite for the sculpture
deduction on June 24th. Once she gets that then they can be sent to artists and others who should
attend. The dedication will be on 6/24 from 2‐4 at city hall
Little Library‐ Larry‐ Has filled the Library a couple of times. We are good for books for now but will
need more soon.
Poetry Reading‐ Decided to drop this from events due to already having a full schedule
Penn Fest‐ Mia‐ Human Rights Commission is open to partnering with us for Penn Fest in September.
They are looking at doing a civic engagement trivia contest.
Pints and Painting‐ Sara‐ Heather has reached out to Wild Mind brewery. They are open to the idea.
Heather is still working out details. There is no date set yet.
Richfield Recreation Photo Contest‐ Heather‐Judging for the photo contest will take place at 5pm on
Wednesday August 2nd at the community center. Karin and Mia agreed to help with the judging
Shakespeare in the Park‐There will be three performances, 6/4 at 2pm, 6/15 at 7PM and 6/24 at 7pm.
Just need someone to represent the commission if they are able at these events.
Social Hour for Artists‐Sara‐ The next social hour will be 0n June 21st at Houlihans from 5‐7pm
Richfield Foundation Wine and Cheese Fundraiser‐ Sarah/Mia‐ They did respond and said they would
talk with Marykaye. Lynette did speak with Marykaye. The Richfield Foundation is under the impression
we may be interested in partnering with them for this event. Partnering would involve selling tickets and
other responsibilities but we would get some money from the foundation for our efforts. We will discuss
more at the August meeting
Staff Report‐ Marykaye‐New shirts are in. They can be picked up at the community center. Talked about
the possibility of selling some of the wooden counters before we have to give up the Art Center
There will be no July meeting. The next meeting will be at the Community Center in August
