Sidewalk Initiate/ Poetry on 66th:
Most of the evening was spent on making final decision on the poems that are going in the first round
this spring and early summer. The group looked over the poetry that we all had scored the previous
week. We decided on 20 poems that will go in. Four of the poems were in the 17 and under category
and 16 were in the 18 and over category.
There were questions about the grammar in two of the poems selected. Marykaye will contact the
writers to see if they want to change the grammar issues in question. It was decided that the poems
would be selected either way.
That leaves two panels for RAC to use for special images as had previously been decided. One image is
to be a tree with the RAC logo on it if the engravers can do that and the other panel will say Families
Flourishing in English, Spanish, Hmong and Somali.
Marykaye will check and see if both of those images will work for those engraving the panels.
Poems # 41 and 70 were selected as backups.
There will be an event for the poets celebrating the sidewalk installation on Saturday July 13th

Amy Markle was hired as the new Recreation Services Director. Amy had previously worked at
Woodlake Nature Center.
Our youth member has not responded to Marykaye and has not shown up recent meetings.
There will be an art installation open house from 1‐3 April 6th at the community center for the
Friendship Commission /Sister City project.
