Electrical Box Wrap
Public works will be wrapping the box on 73rd and Lyndale. They want us to rank the artwork to be used
to wrap the box. There is some concern that the first choice will not completely cover the box. The arts
commission ranked the choices presented, picture of outdoor clouds 1, Birds 2, Dock #3 Football field
#4, Hockey # 5(photos were included in email from Marykaye)
Augsburg Library Project Update
The Library still has art kits. They are asking for help from the arts commission to promote the “We Are
Richfield” project. They did not as for our help to distribute the kits. The project has been promoted on
the city website.
Here are additional updates
• There are currently about 25 people signed up for the project, which means we have room for 75
more people (we made 100 art kits.)
• Two of the four instructional videos have been uploaded to our YouTube playlist. Video #3 will be
up by Monday 8/31 and video #4 by Friday, 9/4. You can view them here:

Trunk or Treat
Morris Neilsen funeral home will be once again holding their Trunk or Treat event. It will be on October
17th. Arts commission decided that due to Covid we will not participate this year.
Sidewalk Poetry update
Mia has written a letter that went out to all the participants. The poems should be in by Friday
September 4th. The online poetry map should be up and updated by early October. We are doing a
virtual poetry show. Two dates have been offered to do poetry taping. Commission members interested
in reading poems in place of the poets should let Marykaye know. Dates for taping are Sept. 22nd and
23rd from 9‐12
Poetry on Portland
Mary Supple took picture of poems on Portland Ave. They are in worse condition than thought.
Marykaye has picked up paint to refurbish panels. We can either divide up poems and RAC can fill in
poems around schedule or we could pick a date and do it is a group. People seemed to be more
interested in doing it around their schedule. Marykaye will send out info with schedule and options for
people.
Rehab of existing poetry. Some staff from St. Louis Park were looking at our poetry panels on Portland
Ave. They noticed some of the panels are starting to look a little worn. It is not clear if the panels need
to be repainted or filled in. Depending on need arts commission members might be able to work on
them. Let Marykaye if you notice the condition of the Panels. Mary Supple said she lives close to
Portland and can look and report back.
