Staff Update
Fireside Poets – asked to display poetry on fireplace mantle or on bulletin boards. RAC decided the bulletin board would be appropriate and RAC would provide a frame. Could start in
June. RAC is also considering offering to help host a spoken word or poetry open house event in the community center in early 2023 when there is availability to display the poems.
Dance Instructor – Parks and Recreation seeking a new Dance Instructor for the first time in 21 years – RAC was asked to spread the word to the contacts and the public to locate a new
teacher. Any leads can be forwarded to MaryKaye if anyone is interested in a tour of the room in the basement of the community center. The schedule is a self-designed schedule for the
instructor. Visit the city’s job site for more info.
Mississippi Valley Poets Project – reached out and they plan to replace all 10 signs next year now (2023) instead of 5 every other year. They will replace all 10 every other year moving
forward. Cornerstone would be open to hosting an event at the amphitheater again in 2023. The post that needed replacing was fixed by Public Works. More positive praise of project from
community, especially the QR code that links to the English and Spanish readings of the poem on the website.
