04-24-95 Regular OF RICHFIELD, MINNESOTA REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING April 24, 1995 MEMBERS PRESENT:Martin Kirsch, Mayor; Michael Sandahl; Susan Rosenberg; Russ Susag; and Don Priebe. STAFF PRESENT:James Prosser, City Manager; Steven Administrative Services Director; Byron Wallace, Community Development Director; Donald Fondrick, Community Services Director; William Fillmore, Liquor Operations Director; Jack Erskine, Public Safety Directory; Thomas Ferber, City Clerk; and Corrine Heine, Assistant City Attorney. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kirsch at 7:00 p.m. PRESENTATION OF COLORS AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Kirsch led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. ItemOPPORTUNITY FOR PERSONS TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL ON ANY ITEM NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA. Skip Cook, owner of the Hutch and Mantle, 7625 Lyndale Avenue presented a petition (Clerks File No. C-354) from employees and business owners on Lyndale Avenue requesting that the City convert the northeast corner of 77th Street and Lyndale Avenue into a parking lot to help address the parking shortage in the area. City Manager Prosser stated that staff could put together estimates for the conversion to additional parking and the financing alternatives for such action. He stated this would be a short term approach to the problem. He stated the chairs of the Planning Commission and the HRA have recently discussed looking at a process to address the long term future needs of the area. April 24, 1995 to discuss thealternatives and report back to the City Council in 30 days. PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING MAY 6 AS ARBOR DAY AND MAY AS ARBOR MONTH IN RICHFIELD. C.L. NO. 108 Council Member Priebe read and presented a proclamation to Community Services Director designating May 6, 1995 as Arbor Day and May 1995 as Arbor Month in the City of Richfield.
