ORDINANCE N0. 12.03
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN OFFICE OP ENGINEER AND PROVIDING
POWERS AND Ix7'TTES TI3NRE8'OR.
The Village Coancil for the Village of Richfield does ordain as fallaws~:
SECTION 1.
There is hereby established an Office of Engineer, to b® admin3.stereeb
and controlled by a Village Engineer, subject to the control and direction
of the Village Manager.
SECTION 2.
The office of Engineer shall be charged with the following duties:
A. PLANNING. The Office of Engineer shall assemble or prepare such
plans, specifications, blueprints, survey, plats, reports, maps,~profiles,
chart, estimates, asseasmeat rolls, and other records relating to public
property or public improvements, as the council may by ordinance ar re-
solution direct.
B. SUPERVISION
The Office of Engineer sha11 inspect and supervise all construction,
installation, repair or maintenance projects undertaken by or on be-
half of the vi].].age, and shall take such measures with respect thereto
as may be necessary to safeguard the interests of the Village and to
insure compliance with plans and specifications, ordinances, rules,
regulations, and laws pertaining to such projects.
C. CONSULTATION.
The Office of Engineer sha11 consult with, advise and assist the
vi 11age council and all other officials of the village on matters re-
lating to engineering.
D. RECORDS
The Office of Engineer sha11 keep for the Village a record of the
followings Real property belonging to or used by the Village; plats of
land within the village; traffic and street signs, street lights, grades
and surfaces of streets; public impravements within the village; special
assessments; costs of construction of public improvements; and such
other records, plans, specifications, blueprints, surveys, estimates,
reports, profiles, charts and assessment roll as may be assembled or
prepared by or on behalf of the village which pertain to public
improvements or public property of the Village.
E. RELATED DUTIES
The foregoing list of duties sha11 not be regard.ad as exclusive
but said office shall have such other duties related or incidental,
thereto as may be necessaxy for the proper operation thereof.
SECTION 3.
The Village Engineer sha.11 have supervision of a,l.l. personnel
and custody of all property used and maintained for the purposes of
such Off ice.
SECTION ~4.
This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its publication,
