Equity in Transportation - Presentation by Gloria Jeff (MnDOT) Staff Liaison Broz briefly introduced the guest presenter (Gloria Jeff from MnDOT) who facilitated a discussion focused on equity as it relates to transportation projects and design. Gloria provided a working definition of equity in transportation: Transportation equity ensures fair distribution of mobility options and transportation investments that connect people with opportunities and resources necessary to support their well-being. Equity in transportation is about the outcomes – Who benefits and who doesn’t? Who participates and who doesn’t? To achieve progress towards equity in transportation projects, staff must be adaptable, the process and design must be people-centered, and those in power must always remember that these decisions impact where people live, work, and gather.
