Commission members: Gerry Charnitz, Paul Chillman, Wes Dunser, Brynn Hausz, Gary Ness,
Ken Severson, Jeffrey Walz, and Jack Wold.
Commission members not in attendance: Ted Weidenbach (chair) and Tim Carter

I. Call meeting to Order
Commissioner Charnitz called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.
II. Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Commissioner Severson to approve the agenda, s/Chillman. Motion
carried.
III. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Commissioner Severson to approve the minutes, s/Chillman. Motion
carried.
IV. Updates
▪ Vlasaty provided an update regarding the 66th St. project and the mill and
overlay project.
▪ Doug Olson presented concerns on the 66th St. project.
▪ Broz provided an update about the Roundabout Education Campaign, which is
likely moving to the Portland Ave. roundabout.
▪ Broz provided an update on the Xerxes Ave. illegal traffic movements.
▪ Musgrave informed the Commission of Penn Fest to be held September 16.
V. Pedestrian Plan
▪ Dan Edgerton presented update on Pedestrian Plan:
o Discussed planning, pedestrian demand, pedestrian experience, pedestrian
network, plan and policy review, and implementation
o Commission discussed how Pedestrian Plan is tailored specifically to certain
areas of the city
VI. Lyndale Avenue Reconstruction
▪ Broz presented videos showing traffic flow for the signals at 76th St. and 77th St.
on Lyndale Ave.
VII. Work Plan Review/Next Steps
▪ Broz gave updates on Nicollet Ave. 4 to 3 lane change planned to happen with
the 65th St. reconstruction. A meeting has been scheduled to implement
medians/better crossings on Nicollet Ave. as part of CPE’s restoration at 70th –
74th St. areas
VIII. Upcoming Events/Meeting(s)
Motion made by Severson to cancel the July 4th Commission meeting, s/Dunser.
IX. Adjournment
Motion made by Dunser to adjourn meeting, s/Chillman. Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:53
pm.
