I. Call meeting to Order
Commission Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm.
II. Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Ness to approve the agenda with the addition of agenda item “67th Street
Discussion.” s/Severson. Motion carried.
III. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Chillman to approve the minutes, s/Walz. Motion carried.
IV. Updates
Vlasaty provided an updated regarding the 66th St. project and the mill and
overlay project.
Broz provided an update about the Roundabout Education Campaign, and the
efforts made on social media, the creation of media, and more.
Broz also provided an update about the Corridors of Commerce Funding and
announced the recipients of the funds.
Liaison Hayford Oleary gave a Planning Commission update on the affordable
housing program and Tobacco21.
V. 67th Street Discussion
Traffic and parking concerns regarding 67th St. in relation to the 66th St. project
were discussed. Staff was directed to look into no parking signs on 67th Street
from Nicollet Ave. to Portland Ave. and to report back to the Commission with the
findings and/or actions.
VI. Lyndale Avenue Reconstruction
Broz and Lamkin discussed the Lyndale Avenue City Council work session,
specifically:
o A trail on the west side versus the east side
o Concerns about Lake Shore Drive
Broz and Lamkin also:
Provided the feedback received at the open house
Demonstrated traffic efficiency through 76th St. in the Lyndale Ave. design
Discussed design changes at Lake Shore Drive to accommodate bike
landings and additional parking
Liaison Hayford Oleary asked staff to look into shortening the right turn
lane at southbound 76th St.
Motion made by Ness to recommend to City Council the Lyndale Avenue Layout with the
future consideration of:
1. Aldrich bike facilities;
2. Ornamental fencing along Wood Lake Nature Center’s property; and
3. Continuation of study of the right-turn lane at 76th Street.
