Call meeting to Order Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm II. Approval of Agenda Motion made by Severson to approve the agenda. s/Chillman. Motion carried. III. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes Motion made by Walz to approve the minutes, s/Chillman. Motion carried. IV. Updates  77th St underpass o Broz updated the Commission that the 77th St. Underpass project is funded, and provided the open house schedule. The first open house is Thursday, January 18, from 4:00-6:30PM at the Richfield Public Works facility.  Other Commissions/Bike Advocates o Liaison Hayford Oleary provided the Planning Commission provided brief status updates on projects. o Liaison Hayford Oleary also provided an update on the feedback received from the bike advocate group regarding their feelings on the Lyndale Avenue bike preferences. V. Pedestrian Plan; Dan Edgerton, Zan Associates  The representative from Zan Associates, Dan Edgerton, presented an existing system evaluation through a look at pedestrian demands and pedestrian crash data and trends. Mr. Edgerton further elaborated pedestrian experience in Richfield as well as the old pedestrian plan rate changes.  The presentation also covered the process for future decision-making for pedestrian crossings and routes across the community. The process includes consideration of the location of schools, businesses, bus stops, parks, and the nearby residential areas to determine the importance of each intersection for improvements. VI. Corridors of Commerce Funding Solicitation  Broz provided an update of the potential Corridors of Commerce projects. Discussed was the potential I-494 and Crosstown projects. These projects include adding extra capacity to both freeways along with consideration of changes to the ramps. Ramp changes on I-494 could include closing ramps at Nicollet and 12th Avenues and adding new ramps at Portland Ave. Ramp changes on Crosstown include closing the ramp to Bloomington Avenue and modifications at Highway 77 to reduce congestion.  Broz also informed of the funding process and source for the projects, as well as the submittal process to be considered for funding through the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). VII. Work Plan Review/Next Steps  Lyndale Avenue o Broz mentioned an Open House that is being planned for February 2018.  2018 Bicycle Routes VIII.
