2017-12-06 TC Minutes Richfield Transportation Commission ATTACHMENT #1 Meeting Minutes December 6, 2017 7:00 p.m. | Richfield Municipal Center | Bartholomew Room Commission members in attendance: Ted Weidenbach (chair), Paul Chillman, Gary Ness, Ken Severson, Jeffrey Walz, Wes Dunser, Brynn Hausz, and Jack Wold Commission members not in attendance: Gerry Charnitz, Tim Carter, James Melendez Liaisons: Sean Hayford Oleary, Michael Howard, Sarah Musgrave, and Art Felgate City Staff Liaison: Jack Broz Other City Staff: Logan Vlasaty Other: I. Call meeting to Order Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. II. Approval of Agenda Motion made by Walz to approve the agenda. s/Severson. Motion carried. III. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes Motion made by Chillman to approve the minutes, s/Walz. Motion carried. IV. Updates  A brief updated was provided by Staff about the 66th St. project, with minimal activity through the winter season.  Liaison Musgrave provided an update from the Human Rights Commission.  Liaison Felgate provided the Community Services Commission update and stated that the Commission and Arts Commission may join as one.  Liaison Hayford Oleary provided a Planning Commission update regarding the Range Rover project, which is being postponed to January. V. Lyndale Avenue Reconstruction  Broz recapped the November 29th Open House including attendance (approx. 60 attendees) and comments from participants.  Broz introduced the design alternative review. o Commissioner Severson stated the need for parking in residential areas on the east side. o Multiple Commission Members stated concerns about the potential lack of bicycle facilities on Lyndale Avenue. o Commissioner Ness stated that the City should encourage use of the liquor store parking lot for public use for Kensington Park customers. o Broz continued with an explanation of the benefits of a 3-lane road system. o Liaison Hayford Oleary stated that there are parking issues from a Planning Commission perspective. o Some audience members expressed concerns over the 3-lane configuration from 76th St. to 74th St.  Broz made mention of additional conceptual design features. VI. Work Plan Review/Next Steps  Broz provided an update on the Pedestrian Plan that it is still in progress and will be appearing before the Transportation Commission upon completion. VII. Upcoming Events/Meeting(s)  77th St. Underpass Open House: January 18, 4:00-6:30PM  Next Commission meeting: February 7, 2017 VIII. Adjournment Motion made by Ness to adjourn meeting, s/Dunser.
