2017-01-04 TC MinutesATTACHMENT #1 Richfield Transportation Commission Meeting Minutes January 4, 2017 7:00 p.m. | Richfield Municipal Center | Heredia Room Commission members in attendance: Ted Weidenbach (chair), Tim Carter, Gerry Charnitz, Paul Chillman, Brynn Hausz, Jeffrey Walz, and Jack Wold Commission members not in attendance: Gary Ness, Sue Sandahl, Ken Severson Liaisons in attendance: Michael Howard, and Sean Hayford Oleary Liaisons not in attendance: Art Felgate City Staff Liaison: Jack Broz Other City Staff: Michael Petersen Other: Bob Byers, Hennepin County I. Call meeting to Order Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm II. Approval of Agenda Motion made by Charnitz to approve the agenda, s/Chillman. Motion carried. III. Approval of December 7, 2016 Meeting Minutes Motion made by Chillman to approve the minutes, s/Walz. Motion carried. IV. Portland Ave Bicycle Improvements- Bob Byers  Bob Byers, Hennepin County, presented an overview of the Portland Avenue Bicycle Improvements from 60th to 66th Street. V. Bicycle Planning  Broz discussed the Bicycle Master Plan map review.  Hayford Oleary discussed gaps at 77th & 78th and finding a way to connect and provide bikeways in this area.  Comments will be incorporated into the map and then distributed to the commission  Broz discussed 62nd and the problem with mill and overlay of this road. VI. Work Plan Review/Next Steps  The Commissioners discussed having the Chamber of Commerce at a meeting in to discuss transportation. Carter will coordinate. VII. Updates  Broz gave an update on the stop sign discussion; stated he will discuss with Councilmember Elliot.  Petersen gave a construction update.  Broz gave a funding update for Lyndale Ave, Penn Ave, Portland Ave (north of 66th St), and the 77th Street Underpass.  Broz gave an update on the 69th Street Pedestrian Pilot project.  Hayford Oleary gave an update on the Planning Commission.
