2016-11-02 TC MinutesATTACHMENT #1 Richfield Transportation Commission Meeting Minutes November 2, 2016 7:00 p.m. | Richfield Municipal Center | Heredia Room Commission members in attendance: Ted Weidenbach (chair), Tim Carter, Gerry Charnitz, Paul Chillman, Brynn Hausz, Gary Ness, Sue Sandahl, and Jeffrey Walz Commission members not in attendance: Ken Severson and Jack Wold Liaisons in attendance: Art Felgate and Sean Hayford Oleary Liaisons not in attendance: Michael Howard City Staff Liaison: Jack Broz Other City Staff: Kristin Asher and Michael Petersen Other: None I. Call meeting to Order Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm II. Approval of Agenda Motion made by Chillman to approve the agenda, s/Ness. Motion carried. III. Approval of October 5, 2016 Meeting Minutes Motion made by Carter to approve the minutes, s/Walz. Motion carried. IV. Human Rights Commission Survey  Weidenbach handed out a voluntary survey to Commission members about gender, race, etc. V. Stop Sign Policy  Asher presented the history of the policy and discussed possibly updating the policy to get rid of “basket weave” and move to sub-collector.  Hayford Oleary suggested gathering speed data from “basket weave” area vs. sub- collector area.  Broz recommended getting existing data and bringing it to next meeting. VI. Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan Review  Broz reviewed the current pedestrian/bicycle plan, the sidewalk map, and the bike route map.  Broz discussed 63rd from 11th to Bloomington, Bloomington from 76th to Diagonal, and 12th from 73rd to 66th. VII. Work Plan Review/Next Steps  Broz discussed putting together an education program for roundabouts and the family-friendly campaign. VIII. Updates  Petersen gave updates on construction projects throughout the city.  Broz gave updates on project funding and on the 69th Street Pilot Project.  Asher gave an update on International Boulevard.  Felgate gave an update for the Community Services Commission.  Hayford Oleary gave updates for Planning Commission and Bike Advocates. IX. Upcoming Events/Meeting(s)  Next scheduled Commission Meeting: December 7, 2016 X. Adjournment Motion made by Carter to adjourn meeting, s/Walz. Adjourned at 8:44 pm.
