Meeting Minutes
October 5, 2016

Chillman, Brynn Hausz, Gary Ness, Sue Sandahl, Ken Severson, Jeffrey Walz, and Jack Wold

I. Call meeting to Order
Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm
II. Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Charnitz to approve the agenda, s/Sandahl. Motion carried.
III. Approval of September 7, 2016 Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Severson to approve the minutes, s/Walz. Motion carried.
IV. Orange Line
James Harwood and Christina Morrison, from Metro Transit, presented progress of
Orange Line Bus Route project.
Harwood and Morrison discussed the project design, funding, and schedule.
Currently they are gathering public input.
V. Updates
Motion made by Severson to move Agenda Topic #7, Updates, to next topic to
accommodate public guests, s/Ness. Motion carried.
Broz gave an update on 69th Street “pilot project”. Council will consider the project
to convert parking lane into a pedestrian/bike path.
Public comment was made regarding concerns that the pilot project will not
accommodate the “on-street” bicyclists who do not use multi-use trails.
Weidenbach gave a recap of Penn Fest.
Broz gave a recap of the Three Rivers Park District trail ribbon cutting and updates
on 77th Street Underpass and International Boulevard.
Felgate gave an update on Community Services Commission and Chris Olson gave
an update on Bike Advocates.
VI. 66th Street Update
Broz gave an update on the reconstruction project, the MCES sewer project, and
the streetscape design.
VII. Work Plan Review/Next Steps
Broz discussed the 2017 bicycle routes, Bicycle Master Plan, and bicycle campaign.
Sandahl would like to discuss stop signs at the next meeting.
