2016-08-03 TC MinutesATTACHMENT #1 Richfield Transportation Commission Meeting Minutes August 3, 2016 7:00 p.m. | Richfield Municipal Center | Heredia Room Commission members in attendance: Ted Weidenbach (chair), Tim Carter, Gerry Charnitz, Brynn Hausz, Sue Sandahl, Ken Severson, and Jeffrey Walz Commission members not in attendance: Paul Chillman and Gary Ness Liaisons in attendance: Art Felgate, Sean Hayford Oleary, and Michael Howard Liaisons not in attendance: City Staff Liaison: Jack Broz Other City Staff: Michael Petersen Other: None I. Call meeting to Order Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm II. Approval of Agenda Motion made by Sandahl to approve the agenda, s/Charnitz. Motion carried. III. Approval of June 1, 2016 Meeting Minutes Motion made by Carter to approve the minutes, s/Charnitz. Motion carried. IV. 70th Street Bikeway  Broz discussed comments from July 19, 2016 Open House.  Broz discussed the project layout, no parking restrictions, and two stripe vs. one stripe for bike lane separation. Motion made by Sandahl to use double lines for bike lane separation, s/Hausz. Motion carried. Motion made by Sandahl to have no parking by the four homes and drop off area by daycare, s/Walz. Motion carried. Motion made by Sandahl to use 18th St to connect bike path to regional trail, s/Charnitz. Motion carried. V. 66th Street Bus Alternate Routes  Broz discussed proposed routes and where parking restrictions would be needed. Motion made by Severson to approve proposed alternate routes, s/Sandahl. Motion carried. VI. Pedestrian Plan – 69th Street Alternatives  Broz discussed ideas for 69th Street Pedestrian/Bikeway, alternatives, and doing an Open House on August 24.  Commission members agreed to the Open House. VII. Smart Cities, Art Felgate  Presentation was skipped and will be completed at next Commission meeting. VIII. Work Plan Review/Next Steps  Discussed Penn Fest and having a Commission dedicated booth. IX. Updates  Broz gave an update on 77th Street Underpass project.  Hayford Oleary gave an update on Planning Commission.  Petersen gave an update on Portland Ave Reconstruction, CenterPoint work at 76th St, and MCES project.
