Meeting Minutes
September 2, 2015

Commission members in attendance: Ted Weidenbach (chair), Ghislaine Ball, Gerry
Charnitz, Paul Chillman, Gary Ness, Ken Severson, and David Taylor

I. Call meeting to Order
Chair Weidenbach called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm
II. Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Severson to approve the agenda, s/Ness. Motion carried.
III. Approval of August 5, 2015 Meeting Minutes
Change minutes to reflect no quorum present and no action approved.
Motion made by Severson to approve the revised minutes, s/Ness. Motion carried.
IV. Approval of June 3, 2015 Meeting Minutes
Change minutes to reflect Gary Ness not present at meeting.
Motion made by Charnitz to approve the revised minutes, s/Ball. Motion carried.
V. By-Laws Revision
Revise quorum language to “Majority of active Commission members” instead of
designated number of six currently required.
Motion made by Severson to approve the by-laws revision, s/Ball. Motion carried.
VI. 66th Street Reconstruction
Jack Broz and Craig Churchward of Avenue Design Partners presented information
on the 66th Street Reconstruction.
Charnitz explained concerns about E-W traffic with no or few stops.
Hayford Oleary expressed concern about pedestrian/bicycle detour. Pearson noted
that current Hennepin County plans call for sidewalk on one side of the street to
remain open during construction.
VII. Draft 6-month Work Plan
Reviewed draft work plan. Motion made by Ball to approve the 6-month Work Plan, s/Chillman. Motion carried.
VIII. Updates
Pearson gave updates on 69th Street; Mill and Overlay; Portland Avenue
Reconstruction; 66th Street; 76th/35W; 77th Street Underpass; TRPD Nokomis-
Minnesota River Trail Construction.
Liaisons gave updates on other Commissions and Bike Advocates activities.
IX. Upcoming Events/Meeting(s)
Penn Fest on Sunday, September 20th. Chair Weidenbach will attend representing
the Transportation Commission.
