Call meeting to Order M. Kirsch called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. II. Approval of Agenda Motion made by Weidenbach to approve the agenda, s/Charnitz. Motion carried. III. Approval of April 9, 2014 Meeting Minutes Motion made by Ness to approve the minutes, s/Severson. Motion carried. IV. Election of Officers Chair - Kirsch nominated by Severson Vice-Chair – Ball nominated by Ness Motion made by by Ness to approve nominations, s/Ahlstrom. Motion carried unanimously. V. Portland Avenue & 66th Street Reconstruction Projects - Jack Broz, Avenue Design Partners & Maury Hooper, Henn Cnty. Portland Ave Staff gave updates and explained lane width variance process. Consensus from Commission to explore minimums possible without need for full variance (10.83’). 66th Street Staff gave public open house meeting summary Concept 2 vs 4A vs 4B discussion o Commission discussed whether to leave 4A in consideration as it had many concerns. o Motion made by Charnitz to eliminate Concept 4A pending staff review of all open house comments, s/Ness. Motion carried 6-1 with Ahlstrom opposed. VI. I-494/I-35W Interchange Study Pearson reviewed study layouts for both the proposed Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit and the phase one and full build out Interchange design. Commission discussed possible impacts to Richfield. There were concerns with the loss of access to Penn Avenue from I-35W northbound due to the number of people traveling to Best Buy and west Richfield. Motion made by Severson to oppose future access closure to Penn Avenue from I- 35W northbound, s/Ness. Motion carried 6-1 with Weidenbach opposed. VII. Updates Bike Advocates Report VIII.
