Meeting Minutes

I. Call meeting to Order
M.Kirsch called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
II. Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Carter to approve the agenda, s/Severson. Motion carried.
III. Approval of Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Ness to approve April 3, 2013 meeting minutes, s/Carter. Motion carried.
IV. Metro Transit Orange Line BRT Presentation
Christina Morrison from Metro Transit presented on the Metro Transit Orange Line BRT.
V. Richfield Safe Routes to School Draft Plan Presentation
JoNette Kuhnau from Kimley-Horn and Associates presented Richfield’s Draft Safe Routes
to School Plan.
VI. Richfield Bike Friendly Assessment Presentation
Nick Mason from the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota presented Richfield’s Bike Friendly
Assessment.
VII. Updates
Pearson provided updates on:
• I-494 projects – Xerxes Ave bridge will re-open on June 14
• Richfield Parkway acquisition and design process – All properties on the
connection project have closed, and all 17th Ave S homes have purchase
agreements
• East/West Bike Routes – In the design exception review; expect July
construction

Motion made by Severson to adjourn meeting, s/Carter. Motion carried. Adjourned at
9:05 pm.
The next Transportation Commission meeting is scheduled for October 2, 2013 at
7:00 p.m. at the Richfield Municipal Center, Bartholomew Room.
