2011-06-22 Draft Transpo Commission MinutesATTACHMENT #1 Richfield Transportation Commission Meeting Minutes June 22, 2011 7:00 p.m. | Richfield Municipal Center | Bartholomew Room Commission members in attendance: Martin Kirsch (Chair); Gail Lund; Gary Ness; Tim Carter; Pat Sorensen; Beth Roberts; Sara Nutter. Liasions: Bob Shotwell; Maureen Scaglia; Council Member Sue Sandahl. City Staff: Jeff Pearson; Kristin Asher. I. Call to Order M. Kirsch called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. II. Approval of Agenda Motion by Roberts to approve agenda, s/ Lund. Motion carried. III. Approval of Meeting Minutes Motion by Roberts to approve May 4, 2011 meeting minutes, s/ Lund. Motion carried. IV. 63rd Street Greenway Presentation J. Pearson presented the 63rd Street Greenway concept. The Commission discussed the concept and strategies for public feedback into the July 11 Open House. The original schedule called for grant submittal in July but due to the State shut down, that has been delayed to August. V. 69th/70th Street Traffic Calming Pearson presented the history of complaints, proposed solutions, implimented solutions, neighborhood reactions, and historic traffic levels for 69th and 70th Streets between Penn Ave and Xerxes Ave. Consesus was to capture current traffic levels and speeds to compare against historical information to determine if there is a legitimate issue. Pearson will bring new data to the next meeting. VI. Updates Asher updated the Commission on the Metro Sewer project and street closures involved with the project. Pearson gave updates on the Nicollet Ave Bridge project, the PRO Signal Project that affects signals along the 76th/77th Street corridor, and the status of the Bicycle Master Plan. VII. Adjournment M/Nutter to adjourn the meeting, s/Ness. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 8:48 P.M. VIII. The next Transportation Commission meeting will be held on August 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Richfield Municipal Center, Bartholomew Room.
