Minutes 9-28-05Richfield Transportation Commission Wednesday, September 28, 2005 7:00 p.m. Richfield City Hall, Council Chambers DRAFT Minutes Commission members in attendance: Steve Lindgren (Chair), Council Member Bill Kilian; Bob Elliott; Bob Shotwell; Don Anderson; Todd Nollenberger; Lezlie Vermillion; Maureen Scaglia; and, Sara Nutter. Others in attendance: Mayor Martin Kirsch; Council Member Fred Wroge; Josh Davis; Dave Grossklaus; Dave Vogel; Arlene Birkholz; Larry Wozniczka; Jill LeVin; Andy Hartle; Tony Heppelmann of WSB and Associates, City Staff: Tom Foley. S. Lindgren called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Motion to approve agenda made by L. Vermillion, second by B. Elliott. Motion passed unanimously. 66th Street/17th Avenue Intersection Public Open House T. Foley reviewed the comments received at the September 14 Open House. Chair S. Lindgren opened the public hearing to receive public comments on 66th street and 17th Avenue intersection. T. Foley presented a summary of the project process and the following people gave testimony on the project. Testimonies are attached. Larry Wozniczka, 6744 Wentworth Ave. John Hafertepe, 6526 17th Ave. Fred Wroge, 124 east 70th Street Andrew Hartle, 6332 17th Ave. Josh Davis Arnold, 6833 13th Ave. David Grossklaus, 6824 13th Avenue L. Vermillion made a motion to close the public hearing, seconded by D. Anderson and passed, 66th Street/17th Avenue Intersection Evaluation Discussion Tony Heppelmann of WSB and Associates reviewed his evaluation of the two alternatives relative to the evaluation criteria. S. Lindgren said he might stress the cost of staging of construction of the roundabout. Mr. Heppelmann asked Commission members to complete their evaluations and assign weights to each criterion. Then, e-mail the results back to him by Tuesday, October 4th. Also, bring the written ratings to the October 5th meeting for discussion. Mr. Heppelmann will e-mail the scoring sheets on both projects to the Commission members tomorrow. Josh Davis and David Grossklaus asked for copies of the evaluation report on 66th Street and Portland Avenue. Adjournment Moved by L. Vermillion and seconded by B. Elliott. The motion passed and the meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
