Mike Eastling welcomed the newly appointed Committee members and reviewed the charge given to the Committee by the City Council. The Committee was asked to prepare recommendations on
issues identified in the Councils goals for 2003.
Tom Foley reviewed the current transportation issues affecting the city. He also reviewed a proposed work program for the committee.
Members discussed selecting a chairperson at the next meeting of the committee. The next meeting was set for June 9th. After the meeting staff discovered that the second Monday of the
month presented a conflict for the use of the Council Chambers as a meeting place.
Committeee members were invited to attend a Council work session on May 27 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall where the Minnesota Department of Transportation will present a three-dimensional
graphic film on the proposed design for the 35W/494 interchange. It shows both the existing and proposed designs relative to existing land uses in the corridor.
